Dr. Nedra Dodds, a cosmetic surgeon in Georgia, was to go to trial for medical malpractice in the death of a woman following a liposuction procedure. The medical examiner’s report showed a perforation in the patient’s diaphragm, as well as multiple puncture wounds to her liver. Dodds filed for bankruptcy at the last minute putting an indefinite hold on the civil trial. The family contends that it is just an avoidance tactic by Dodds. The state medical board suspended Dodd’s license last year.
